Indelible memories
My throat is cracking and all the sounds around me seem to be muffled. I had never screamed so much in ages, neither have so much people (including our bad girl) screamed back at me so loudly before. GOD, Rihanna was beyond awesome. The 1.8m tall lady made a dramatic entrance by descending from the ceiling on a disc only about half a metre in diameter screaming 'bum bum be dum bum bum be dum bum...'...only to find out that her microphone was malfunctioning a few seconds later. Like what the hell...of all the microphone on stage (including those supporting/backup singers), it had to be hers that had technical difficulties. As a result most of 'Disturbia' was left unsung. Considering that 'disturbia' is one of her latest and most favourited hit, and that it was the entrance song, it was terribly dissapointing.
Anyway, I guess the following songs compensated for this, as I screamed myself hoarse, along with a stadium full of people, the world's favourite hits. Another thing that compensated the problem was also her punctuality. Remembering that I was squashed in the middle of an extremely uncouth and excessively noisy crowd, with kissing couples all around and had to wait more than hour for Linkin Park to make their appearance, Rihanna seemed a whole lot more courteous.
However some tiffs over seats during the short wait was enough to put anyone off. A caucasian lady standing in my leg room was towering over all the sitted audience and having an arguement with a group of girls sitting beside me, trying to claim her seat, supposedly entitled to her from the ticket she purchased. According to the usher, it was free seating and the only restriction was the section of the Stadium we are allowed to sit in. Apparently the lady had not attended a concert in her life as ahe didnt expect free seating. Anyway, everyone in the section was staring at her and the girls. Everybody around also started waging a silent and indirect verbal war, some for and some against free seating. In the end, the girls were removed and sent to better seats in the front while the caucasian lady claimed her seat. It was terrible as an usher had to be called in to manage the situation. I felt that the lady hadnt be so provocative and aggresive whem claiming her seat while sistic should inform the audience of free seating before hand. According to Mikhail's arguement which was for free seating - since everyone in a particular section had paid the same ticket price, free seating should be allowed and served by a first come, first serve basis. Inevitably, being early always pays.
